For my sister, her 1.1 206 has just been bummed in it's MOT so time for the scrapper and a new car.
She only drives into the city centre for a commute (5miles of stop/start) and the odd trip on a weekend etc.
It just needs to be cheap, cheerful and reliable. I wanted to suggest a VAG diesel after my years of Ibiza FR ownership but it's probably wasted on her that kind of power/economy.

I was thinking Corsa C to be honest. Need to remind myself of the different trim levels etc.
Something like a Clio 182 would be wasted on her, but I'd at least enjoy the test drive

Can get an Exclusiv for around £2.5k (which I'll be selling soon...), heated leathers, climate control, alloys, 1.4 engine

She's seen a Cat C Astra 1.3 CDTI thingy. 58 plate with 48k miles.
Just explaining what Cat C actually means to her, I think she'll bottle it tbh.
Loads of choice at this budget, some silly good cars at this money.

I'd be leasing something like this
http://www.gateway2lease.com/z_citroen_c1_1.0vtr5drhatchwithaircon_14416_leasing.php
£650 down then £108 a month. Will cost her £3k over the two years but she gets a new car not a 80k cat c dog
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Corsa C exclusiv, or even a SXI+ both have the top trim level. Nice small petrol engine, I take it she doesn't do many miles?

Definitely not a diesel for a short commute, they don't like it at all.
I'd get a 1.25 Fiesta.

Nah not many, there's an Exclusiv in her town for sale on AT for under £3k. Leather looks a bit tatty on the pictures but other than that looks like it might be worth a look.
Will see about SXI+ too.
Cheers chaps.
