We have a diamond plate floor, aluminium I assume, on our balcony and it looks terrible. Cleaning it with soap and water makes little difference.
Most of the products/advice I can find are for small areas and it's going to take a lifetime as well as cost a small fortune in products to do our whole balcony floor.
I'd prefer to cover it up but as we rent I can't make any permanent changes and I don't want to spend too much money on it either.
Ideas for ways to cheaply cover it are welcome too.

Put the time in with some metal polish then paint a lacquer over the top?

Can you laquer raw aluminium? How would that be to keep?
I think the metal polish is going to be a bitch due to the nature of the diamond plate. Polishing between all the raised bits is going to take forever.
Also seems like quite a bit of manual labour...

Get the Mrs on with it then, or just paint over it with some grey floor paint.

Can't you put decking over it? A mate of mine done this on his balcony cause he didn't like the tiles, looked good, pulled it when he left
