Don't ask why, but my manager has bought this.
Sorry it's not exciting, it's a 2010 Peugeot Bipper Tepee
Seat airbag gone off
Sill
Whipped door off.
That's it for now, only came in at half 9. Will keep it updated as usual.

As far as I got today, busy with other things.
Wheel off, suspensions bollocksed
Not seen a strut bent like that in a while.
Wing off
Simple enough, need a door now.

How come that's a write-off if it's only 2/3 years old, is it not worth very much then?

I'm sorry Andy but I recon LOADS of this backhand writing off goes on. My Ibiza I had about 5 years ago was written off and it had a market value of 7k. It had less damage than that, door, wing, tiny bit of sill and new bumper. I recon an insurance assessor/bodyshop worker/manager wanted it as it's still on the road today

It happens. We had a damaged mondeo at my old work, wasn't bad but was getting written off, so the manager who wanted to buy it disconnected the fuel pump or took fuse out, can't remember. So it was listed as a non runner, so he got it cheaper and then just put fuse back in

You'd be suprised how quickly the price racks up when getting genuine parts etc
genuine door (up to £700), wing (up to £300) and bumper (up to £400) looking at £1.2k+ in parts alone, and maybe a new sill aswell £1.5k+ in parts, then door mouldings, bumper inserts, rubbers, badges etc another £200+ blow in rear door/qaurter depending on colour etc all put down on the qoute and then £60 an hour labour at 10 hours thats £600 may even take longer then that, then storage charges £20 a day depending how long took for bodyshop and insurance to agree on price, then have £20 - £50 a day renting a car out looking at an easy £4k + and depending on insurance some are over 50% vehicle value they write it off

Firestate speaks sense. Can't get a track arm separate, have to buy a steering rack at £600+ VAT.

unfortunatly accident repair is a costly business, apparently some if not alot of car makers now make hardly anything on new cars, its the parts they make money on and at £700 a door etc its easy to see why there silly money sometimes but then other parts are alot cheaper then you'd expect, its a strange old business

Hyundais are fucking expensive for some parts. Lights and bumpers seem cheap, but I put a clutch part of the aircon pulley on a Hyundai ix20 last week. No bigger than the palm of my hand, just a peice of metal, one bolt held it on. Was just short of £400.
