That sorta question will get you bum-loved around here.

But seriously you wouldnt be insured correctly, and if you crashed you'd be fucked.

Would reccomend selling your car, and buying another with smaller engine. surely the 2.0's worth a bit of dosh?

Why pay a grand to insure a 1.2 when you wrap the car up and your not covered anyway. If your not going to insure it properly then why bother at all and there's a big difference between declaring your max power wind deflectors to a engine swap with twice the power.

Try admiral/bell/diamond for general companies and greenlight, Adrian flux, Keith Michaels, sky and brentacre for specialist policies.

Oh and too answer your question, fill in the v5 with the knew xupic capacity and send it into the DVLA, as there will be a reduction in road tax payable etc I put a bag of sand on it that they will require an engineer's report from a garage to proof the conversions been done.

To be honest mate, if you do manage to change it back and drive around in a 2.0 registered as a 1.2 then you are a complete and utter fucktard! You, in the event of an accident, will not be be insured.

There is only one reason I don't have a 2.0 corsa, because I couldn't afford the insurance!

Corsa 1.6 sport - 1
1.7 puma engined fiesta - 0

Keeping corsa's on the redline since 2008

even if you have a 2.0 corsa your moped is still going to be quicker. xe corsa is around 7 secs 0-60

and 0-banned in however long it takes for the police to stop you!

Read that the other day and thought you meant you wanted to insure it as a 2 litre but any of the automatic quote things that you put your reg in didn't do that.

You could change it back very easily, just send the log book off and tell them the engine number and capacity of your new pretend engine. Its a myth that you're uninsured straight away when you don't declare a true record, your insurer cannot legally renege on their third party obligations. What they normally do is pay it all out except your bit, then claim the whole bill back from you for a sizeable proportion of the rest of your life.

So don't crash. Or if you do, don't hit anything expensive like Porsches or lamp-posts or children because those things take a while to buy on a 19 year old's wages.

Dont be a complete cock!!! Its people like you who have made insurance as expensive as it is already. Back in the day i insured my c20let corsa for £1600 fully declared and i was only 22. My bro insured a c20let nova at 19 fully declared for £1600 but sadly these days are long gone for younger lads. Sadly if you cant get a decent quote, then you cant afford to run the car. Sell it and buy something you can insure. Wether its slow as fuck or not. And Ian thats a bit stupid for you to be a moderator and say that to him!!!!!!!

Thing is though, Ian is just telling it how it is. No point jumping on the bandwagon when there is plenty on here, with nice corsa's with a lot of money in them, but still insured and reg'd as 1.2s and what not.

Ian's approach is just a different way compared to saying oh don't be a cock.

And its not people like him who have made insurance expensive. Compared to the false whiplash claims, how many cases have you heard of similar to what this guy wants to do, that have had an affect on insurance premiums?? It won't be classed as an "uninsured driver" so don't use that as a reference.

So a few dishonest minority do something that makes it ok? Seems legit.

Insurance fraud? What could possibly go wrong?!

Don't crash? I see

Don't crash into an expensive car? Good advice.

Thing is, there are two facts here, as well as a moral obligation. Neither is anything to do with internet bandwagons, there is simply right and wrong.

Lying on an insurance quote about the engine, is fraud. This is a crime. It is illegal, and is obtaining insurance by deception, which given the fact the DVLA would have a record of what engine your car is, a random stop check or in the event of an accident then you are screwed.

When people say it invalidates insurance, they are correct, an insurance company is a business and claims are expensive, they use a number of ways to abscond paying out money in the event of one. You might get lucky and get away with it sure, but the same could be said about robbing a bank.

If you can't afford it. Thats life.

Man up, think about your future and the safety of other road users not just your own selfish desire.

I couldnt of said it better myself Jambo!!! I dont see why you would even bother to pay the £1000-1500 insurance if your technically not insured anyway. The only thing that will do is stop anpr camaras reporting you for no insurance. Do it and i hope you get caught and pay a massive fine like a lad i used to work with did. Same situation, insured a c20xe corsa as a 1.2 and got caught and got given 6 points and a hefty fine.

Im now 27 and still pay about £400 for my 1.4 sport because i have declared EVERYTHING. I could be a complete dick and say its standard and get it cheaper but then when the time comes that i do have an accident im only going to mug myself off really aint i? As said already if you cant afford it now wait till your older thats what i had to do.

Your all going wild hahaa no need to stress was only a question.. I would much rather do it legally i just need to find a quote! Its not that i cant afford it its that i cant find one, and why does having a c20xe make it dangerous to others? Im still gonna do the speed limit n if i hit someone at same speed in a 1.2 as a 2.0 its not gonna be any diff n like corsa_sport21 said its not people like me at all that put insurance so high.. Its all the faulse injury claims etc its hit me alot harder then its hit any of you ive not been able to even think about getting a car for 2 years because my insurance was like 6k ive finally just got it down to 1200 but im obviously happy to pay more with everything declared but thanks ian as you are the only onw who can actually answer the question that i asked

Post some pictures up.

If its nice and clean, with a Gsi kit and speedlines, people will accept it and you won't get stick for it.

Because you won't be insured if it's registered as a 1.2
