Paying monthly, want to cancel insurance, still 3 months left but insurance are saying we have to pay the remainder if we cancel, does that sound right

Yeah that's what happened with me with Quinn direct. But I cancelled about 3 months into the policy,and had to pay about 350

There will be a cancellation charge with admiral its £45. Just cancelled a home insurance policy with 4 months left and fee was £35.

Edit: so no, it doesn't sound right.

Does sound a bit weird that. I cancelled a policy on my old car which I paid monthly and still managed to get money after the cancellation charges

I've canceled a policy before and they wanted 70% of the quote I just canceled the direct debit and didn't hear a thing after

I always thought it was like a phone contract you sign up for the full 12 months and if you cancel it costs you the remainder to take it to the full 12 months. Could be wrong as never cancelled but that's my thought

Insurance have become total cunts!!

When I cancelled my Corsa C van insurance, I paid around £950 and 3 months in got £300 back. They wanted 1k to insure my pug taking it up to £1900 for the year.
