What is the cheapest way to do 30k miles a year?

I want to get a fairly quick and comfy diesel, something like a Sirocco/TT/3 series/A class with a decent spec, so what would the best option to do that?

If most of that is motorway then big saloon! E60 BMW/Passat, A6 etc?

Did you delete the other thread?

As said, lease and pcp will penalise you for that amount of mileage which leaves borrowing the money to buy.

If you can get a bank loan, you'll pay less interest than dealership finance.

I've been through most brands and a BMW would be top of my list, I've done 8k In 5 months, service intervals are far apart and it does a good 46-48 mpg.

With a bank loan as said above.

Yeah, but there is no point in having a massive car when I will be in it alone for those 30k.

I've done 7k Since 21st of December. I hate my E46. Suspensions is way too hard for a cruiser!

When I had my E39(which too had M Sport suspension) I done 22k miles in 15 Months and didn't feel it at all! So much better!

Even though you'll be alone with a big car comes comfort and refinement as it can handle the speeds more.

I wouldn't do it in anything less than a 3 series BM, C class etc. Which both come in Coupe form.

I'd steer clear of the sport models and get SE or something like that. Although BM suspension is quite firm anyway. Any of those cars would handle well enough off the motorway in real world driving not to warrant the sport variant.

Lowish mileage Golf TDI GT. I would be after something like that if I was doing those sort of miles again. A 3 or 5 series BM is and old mans car imo

The Golf will hold its value and if bought for the right price you could break even on it after a year or so.

Bank Loan or Finance. As said on a lease you'll get stung anything from 4 to 10p a mile over the allowed amount.

I do 25k a year and bought my car new, now its on 107k. In hindsight i'd have bought something old and saved a lot of money by fixing/replacing. As deano said, I'd be going for an oldish 3/5 series derv

1.5 dci Clio, 60mpg and cheap to buy.
Otherwise get a BMW, people still pay silly money for them with 100k (assuming a 3 year life span in your hands)

The new fiesta,golf and ibiza diesels are good on fuel,70+ so i`ve been told and no or very low tax.

Excellent MPG but he would loose money in depreciated very quickly especially piling the miles on.

208 1.4HDI I had over Christmas was really good on fuel. Was getting 60MPG without even trying. TV ad says up to 88MPG.

He needs something that has lost most it's money and good on fuel.
