How are these when the mileage racks up? Economicalish? Heard bad stories about the 1.9 but the 2.2 seems more reliable.
Car in question is a Signum BTW

My vec dti had 165k on when the turbo blew and the clutch was changed at 163k. I did give it serious shit tho, was a brilliant reliable engine til the issues started.

hear a lot of horror stories about the VP44 Fuel pump failures on them, although i ran a DTI Vectra B from 74k to 119k over 3 years and never had any bother.
only thing to watch for is leak off pipes and injector seals causing it to be a bastard to start.

Thanks Shane that's good to know mate.
I've heard of the fuel pumps going. They seems to suffer from cutting out a lot/power steering going all if a sudden.

Yep exactly what he said. Leak off pipes take 15 mins to change so not a massive issue. The pumps are like rocking horse shit to find second hand, and a fortune new.

I'd like one mate but I've seriously lowered my budget. Needs must and the house and family take priority
