Genuine question looking for genuine answers 
Corrado VR6, talk to me...
There's one local to me that's been parked on the road for a while, and has had a flat tyre since then, so has obviously not been moved. I'm wanting to try and find the owner so I can see if they want to sell up!
What are they like to work on? Live with etc?

He's also had one for a long time, so would be good to hear off him what he's had to do maintenance wise.

I don't own a Corrado, but I do own a 90's performance car.
Everything, and I mean everything will need replacing or it will be shit. If you are handy and have deep pockets, the return is good. If not, avoid like the plague.

Great cars. You really need to drive a good one to experience it imo. Done a bloke in his megane rs today. I swear he turned round just to speed through 30mph and sit on my arse.
I do seem to be working on mine alot as they are old, well used and somethings seem prone to breaking. But there is a fix for eveverything.
Some parts are expensive. Lots of parts vw don't make any more and not many decent copy parts. I always seem to be buying spare parts just in case I need them one day.
I wouldn't buy one and expect to drive it all the time problem free. The worst part is finding a decent example these days. See lots of bodge jobs or hear of people claiming a mint car only for someone who knows the cars to say otherwise.
I find it quite easy to work on. Its the first car I've worked and learnt on. Just seems to be the case of removing 5 parts to fix one.
The corrado forum seems to be either dedicated owners, seem to own them for ages or have owned a few. One guy has 4 or 5. Or you get owners that give up and think they have bought a plum.
Its like with any old high mileage performance car. Cheapish to buy but can be costly to maintain. That's what real cars are about imo too many people claiming to be into cars but have too many excuses and reasons that justify them driving something boring. Not sure why people cry about putting money into a car. Probably because all they care about is resale value and money. (As much car people as football fans who sit at home and onlywatch It on tv and thats their only connection with their "passion"
I just enjoy driving and love my car.

I get so much posotive attention in mine. Thumbs up on the way to work Tuesday morn, people offering to buy it on forums and on petrol station forecourts.

Bought it for £4k
Spent about £4-5k on it in 6yrs. But have some nice upgrades with that. Done 70,000 miles in that time.
Don't know what its worth as the market is a bit weird. If I got offered £4k now I wouldn't sell it.

So they're cheap on general maintenance, such as servicing. But then when suspension components etc want replacing, it starts to get pricey?

Servicing is cheap. I just wash the air filter as I have a bmc.
6 sparks is about £30. Oil filter and fuel filter are cheap parts. Oil is about £15-£20.
Expensive parts seem to be cooling parts and stupid corrado only vw parts. The headlight switch for example. Its shit and costs over £60 for a simple switch.
Suspension and exhaust are cheaper to go aftermarket. Think the vw stuff is nearly obselete anyway.
Engine is expensive to tune properly.

In the Harrogate/Knaresborough area, it hasn't moved for ages which would no doubt be a problem suspension and brake wise

If you do buy it, you and Jim can start up a Corrado Club. And the 1st rule of the Corrado Club is never to talk about the Corrado Club.
Should be easy enough as Jim never seems to talk about his Corrado on here. Infact if it wasn't for this thread, i wouldn't have known he has a Corrado.

Also don't know much about the G60, i seem to only read the VR6 threads.
Although an original G60 in red will be worth quite a bit in years to come i reckon, they are like the original corrado in my eyes
