So, sold the Prelude few weeks back and been on the hunt for new car since. Viewed all sorts of shite and walked away undecided. Few folk at work commented saying i havn't had an Alfa and quoted JC saying i wasn't a true petrol head blah blah.

Then this popped up. At the price, i didn't have high hope's for it but went for a look. Got there and was greeted by a same owner car for last 9 years (2nd owner), full Alfa service history, mint inside and very very good condition outside.

So, its a 2000 phase 2 GTV Lusso 2.0 TS....

Quite happy with it, drive's friggin awesome for a car with 111k on it. Suspect it needs a MAF as it has the notorious flat-spot between 4-5k rpm. Previous owner prob never knew this as i couldn't see her being up that end of the revs.lol. Other than that its tip top.

Nice, I had a 156 many years ago on a 98 plate. It was family owned & cared for from new for but still caused a lot of expense.

Cheers.

Wheels are a bit iffy. Thing is though, apart from the 17" Teledials, there isn't much choice for Alfa'as they all kinda look the same. Not alot pops up for sale but i am on the lookout.

I wasn't sold on the colour at 1st, but with the styling and it being an Alfa, i think it pulls it off ok.

I am counting the days till something breaks lol. Might get lucky and the old boy i got it from said his wife kept on top of the servicing and never had any bother in the last 9 years.

Its braw to drive, and sounds pretty good. Drivers seat isn't height adjustable and sits pretty high which is a bit shit.

I always think with these that I'd be tempted to cut the little joining bit between the two headlight holes just to see how it looked

Not sure on the other servicing parts prices, but they need 8 spark plugs instead of 4

Rear suspension arms are hideously expensive but other than that they're normal to live with

Always thought these looked dated from the minute they were made.

That said, I've been a passenger in one and it sounded incredible.

They share most of the interior with the 156, I had one as a courtesy car for a couple of days last week when the arb and drop links what themselves. Was a 2.0 t Spark with 132k on the clock but it was an absolute hoot to drive

Are the pedals offset to the wheel?

This

Thought I was the only one reading through the thread. Whenever I see these on the roads they are normally rusting, filthy and being driven by a Geography teacher type with a grey beard.
