Think the link will work.

Brother is trading it in on saturday and has accepted a very low amount of money.

I would've thought that was a fair price with mileage, clutch and cambelt pending. They're not worth much.

Trade in prices are daft my brother chopped his 2003 Vectra SRi in for £700, it was on the site 2 weeks later for £1950. Id say £480 is about right considering it needs a clutch and cambelt.

Not daft when you THINK about it and break it down.... Someone comes in to buy the Vectra, wanting a 'deal' so they get it for £1700. That's a grand profit, less VAT leaves them about £833. Then they have any reconditioning costs such a service, MOT, bodywork (dent man type dents etc.) and that's what they make off it. Could leave them with £600 - £700 after all that.
It's not a secret either, they're a business, they make money! When you go to work, does your company make a profit? Is that 'daft' ?!

I didnt mean it in that sense I know how it works, I meant they are always 'daft' prices compared to selling it privately so I dont know why anyones ever shocked at the prices they get offered. That was my point.

Ok Jay, sorry. I'll get back in my box! Most people take the option to px as selling private can be such a ball ache, tyre kickers, no shows, test pilots etc.
I work in the trade and took trade money for a car once cos I couldn't be bothered with the arsing around privately!
