Just had a guy doing Asda delivery, he was a Muslim chap, friendly guy, got to the last basket and it was a box of beer. He said to me "Due to my religion, i'm not able to touch the box of beer" which is totally fair enough.
Is there a religion I can join that prevents me touching screwdrivers at work? I like the fact that I could be protected by law and they wouldnt be able to do anything to get rid of me! Could be onto something here!

make it up. that's all whoever started islam off did.
also, you should've asked what he would've done if you didn't take it, as you are not properly insured to remove your shopping from his van.

They always used that as an excuse to get away from doing the drink and occasionally the freezer aisles, maybe, or maybe not, coincidentally the ones requiring the most work.
I put it down to laziness and the usual attitude of using 'beliefs' to try and cover that laziness.
When I worked in ASDA, not just randomly.

He brought the basket containing the box of said beer to the front door.

Thats fair enough, but touching a container holding booze - can or bottle is surely different to consuming!

Reminds me of this, Jewish guy wrapped himself in a plastic bag while on a plane because his religion says he can't fly over cemeteries

I wouldn't say that was fair enough, his religion has hindered his ability to complete his job therefore he shouldn't be doing his job in the first place.
I would have left the box on your doorstep and phoned ASDA.

The bit that pisses me off about the religion is when they pick and choose when to use it . It's ok for them to smoke weed and sell drugs etc but can't eat a chicken unless its had its throat cut .

Isn't like his got to ingest the actual alcohol, just touch the packaging.
Not ever met a devout Muslim that's stuck to the rules of his religion.

I used to work with a devout Muslim, he would touch alchahol, would use cutlery he didn't know had been washed or he would bring his own. It is kinda freaky but tbh I had to admire his dedication He was also the nicest bloke you could meet.
I say it its not actually hurting or affecting you let it me. They are certainly not retarded though.

Tiger, you should have said... ''owing to my religion, I feel compelled to kick you in the bollocks until you do your f*cking job you lazy, malingering, brainwashed f*ckwit sh*tc*nt'' And then just stood and stared at him in silence for a bit.
