I crashed Wednesday night after entering a bend too fast in the damp, bike hit kurb, threw me off and carried on into a lamp post before landing in the middle of the road with the front forks only held on with the cables, Frame snapped.....

Couple more pics....

I got away with a broken collarbone on the left side, graised knees due to not wearing my leathers/kevlar jeans and a few bruises.

So be careful this summer, I rode through winter so I hadnt just jumped back on the bike, But had got a boosted confidence due to the recent weather.

Cheers guys, I got damn lucky, First bike crash and I always said it would be a big one.

Another ft to the right and I'd have gone into the lamp post along with the bike.

The thing with bikes, you ride knowing the risks, You might get a buzz from driving a fast car around a track, I got a bigger buzz from just riding to the end of my road in first gear.

I do plan to ride again, the first time is going to be hard, but I plan to ride again before the end of summer. I need to replace all my gear first!

Its the alloy that has snapped I think, I'm not that fussed about how it snapped, it was probs still doing 30-40mph as it hit the lamp post, across the front forks.

The main thing I care about is this isn't a RIP thread!

Glad you're ok. I broke my collar bone and shoulder blade amongst other things in October last year at Mallory Park. Its pretty uncomfortable but you should be good again within 6 weeks although a little week

Glad your ok. Seen a couple of SV's snap like that. Don't think it's a weld issue, more the trellis design. Saying that a heavy front impact is gonna fuck up most At least you walked away from it

That's s wheelie good effort.

Knowing what you did wrong and no other cars being involved will make it easier the next time you get on the bikes.

Jimmy, Pretty much what the doc said today, I'll get through it.

Allan, Yeah, a steel frame would have bent at the same place imo, its what I expect from an alloy frame, its fucked whatever!

Deano, Yeah, I know what I did wrong, I know what happend and how, so I'm happy..

Cheers for all the comments too.

It's a bit like riding downhill mountain bikes. If you know what you did wrong and can learn, you're fine, and if you're only to blame, you're fine.

If it is someone else or you have no clue what or how it happened, it makes you very nervous. Luckily, all my offs have been my own fault.

Welcome to the club. Proper bike now with a serious crash. Fortunately yours ended well ish. Mine ended in a broken back!

Going through insurance to fix it? If so can claim for your clothing aswell.
