Doing the job I do, I'm given probably 300 registration numbers a day and the amount of people who say 'haitch' is beyond ridiculous.

Are people not taught correctly anymore? Are schools not correcting children when they're wrong?

It's 'aitch'.

I understand where the mispronounciation comes from but it's wrong.

This annoys the fuck out of me too. Along with using F in place of Th.

I'd accept that it was a typo or a momentary lapse in concentration, but an autocorrect it was not.

I love it when people remember some of it and then grim out halfway through, "Yes, it's Mr. Cunt. CHARLIE UNIFORM NOVEMBER, uhh... whatever the phonetic alphabet for T is... oh yeah! TANGO!"

The 'gh' sound in enough is pronounced as F..
The 'o' in woman is often pronounced as the short 'i' sound..
The 'ti' in nation is pronounced as 'sh'..
Therefore to our language
"GHOTI" is pronounced as "FISH"...

Exactly, so I'm not saying it wrong, the thread is about saying it wrong. Read what I said if you want to pick me up on a stupid point next time.
