For my mum.
It's a motability car, she's currently got a 60 plate Astra 1.4. It's slow as fuck, shite on fuel and pretty basic.
She ideally wants something a bit higher up, so my nan can get in and out easier.
So only needs are
5 door
Petrol or diesel
Doesn't need to be fast
Doesn't want to put money for an upfront payment.
Maybe thinking of Ford B max depending how much they are.
Also she recently had a Hyundai i30 courtesy car, 1.6 CRDi. She didn't like it because it was too fast

My Grandma who has dodgy knees has no trouble getting in and out of a new Kia Picanto. Might be worth a look if the cost is an issue? She struggles with my Alfa big time, she has to get down INTO the Alfa and lift her legs over the sill, her car is much easier for her

My nan and grandad recently brought a Renault Kangoo for this reason. (Worked out well for me since I got their old Corsa!)
What about a Honda Jazz?
On another note:
Hyundai i30's are great, I learned to drive in one, I mean if she just didn't like it because it was too fast, could she not get a version with a smaller engine?

I thought the i30 was fine, was ok for my mum but my nan struggles to get in cause its abit too low. Was quite funny putting her in my 106 GTi on Gaz coilovers.
Will have a scout about and see also thought about Meriva.

I thought this. Awesome cars. Those rear seats really are incredibly practical.

No use in a Quashqai. She'd bump it.
Ideally want something better on fuel too so maybe a diesel. May just stick to Vaux.

I have a friend who has basically fucked her back, she has the B max on the disability scheme and from what I've heard from her she cannot fault it. Her mother is also disabled and I understand it to be a really good car for sliding in and out without having to cause distress

Juke? Went for a test drive in one and loved it. Sat in both front and back.
It's quite a bit smaller than a qashqai.

Completely forgot about the b max. Great car. The lack of a b pillar to hold onto may be an issue though.

Andy our 1.5d Qashqai does 45+mpg around town, isn't slow slow and is the same size as a normal car just taller. The reversing camera makes it a piece of puiss to park etc
It's a brilliant car hence why they've sold fucking millions of them
