Anything to look out for on this?
Autotrader link: Vectra 1.9CDTi [150]
It all seems legit, price maybe a little low when compared to Parkers valuations, but it would suit our needs quite nicely. Insurance hikes up to £460 a year for it though

does seem abit to goog to be true? low mileage and low price. may have gear box troubles as its the m32 chocolate box, take it for a good test drive to get it realy hot and listen for any whining/droning like wheel bearing failure, or notchy gear change. if it has any of this offer £1500 or walk away.

To be honest if it sounds like the box is going I would walk away regardless of the price, that's the only thing I can remember about the 150s 'from the internet'. But they must of sold these gearboxes by the thousand (co cars etc) so they cant all be bad. It's not like I'm going to be hooning it about all the time, maybe once in a while...

I wouldn't let a dodgy gearbox put you off if its cheaper enough. People are fixing the gears boxes for less than 400 quid so just budget for it.
Having said that you could find another one an it feels fine as goes anyway and would be a but pissed that you didn't take advantage of the cheaper one.

Vectra uses the F40 gearbox anyway and not the M32.

The 1.9cdti's use the m32 box, its the 3.0cdti's that use the f40 box.

Maybe the 120 CDTi uses it then.

Anybody who is subscribed to Warren Gs facebook page will realise the M32 problem is not just the "internet"

So was it just a case of slap any box on the Vectra's or was it year and model specific?? Seems they used the M32 or F40.
Certainly don't here of as much gearbox related issue's with the Vectra's.

I've got 1 sitting outside and it's definitely an F40, I've not spent a lot of time on it but I had a look originally and I did think they were all F40's.
It's also a bit strange, unless they changed the ratio's for the Vectra version, the gearbox is completely different in the Astra, much longer gearing in the Vectra.

Fuck knows what they use but I laughed at all the m:2 gearbox threads and bad names and thougt can't be that bad.... Test drove a 1.9CDTI and whilest out it jumped out of 6th and wouldn't go back on (wasn't aware of there problems so walked from that one) then looked into it and thought it was bad luck, bought one this time week later it went on that to, luckily the garage refunded me every penny back, I'm staying well clear now
Always hear people saying there fine on there's but on the diesels seem to go all the time, never hear many VXR's ect having problems though
