I've been offered throttle bodies for my xe and I was just wondering if they actually make much difference? Or weather it's just a nice sound lol. As dont really want to buy them and have them set up if there's not much gain to be had. I'm getting it
Cammed soon at courtenay sport anyway but will buy the throttles if they are worth it. Any advice please?

they make a big difference, but really need cams and higher rev capabilities to make the most of them
Worth it for the noise alone though
With fairly mild (but not too mild) cams you should be looking at ~200bhp with decent exhaust/mapping etc

Ok so if I get them maybe ill get the cams fitted and set up first then get the bodies fitted. They do sound sexy and will also free up space in the bay lol

Would I have to raise the revs ? Or is it just best to so I can get the most out of them.

Do they come with standalone management etc?

Yeah it comes with that as well. Coz standard management wouldn't be able to run them ?

You would be best to get the cams fitted at the same time and have it mapped to suit both. Getting the cams fitted on there own would be a waste. You would also be best to not get the cams from Courtney. They will be massively over-priced compared to what you can get elsewhere that would probably be better and cheaper.
Also do you have a bigger bore manifold and exhaust system??

I've got a 4-2-1 and de cat ATM. And if you go to courtenay they will re work standard xe cams and refit them for you so I was going to do that. Are cams not really worth it on a xe then?

courtney are just generally expensive.
You can get re-profiled cams from cam places.
Ask SBD for advice, and then perhaps use that advice to buy parts
Mapping - if you can fit it all at once, and map once rather than setting it up over and over again
Cams + pullies
TBs
ECU
Injectors?! (I used to run the bigger turbo ones from memory)
Rod Bolts
expensive, but fun

On there own, not really. Put it this way, the money could be better spent elsewhere.
If all they are going to do is re-work the standard cams, i would sack them off and just buy a pair from Auto-sprint and save yourself a shit load.

Seen autosprint cams snap due to removing too much material from them.

How do you snap a can lobe... That's the bit they grind not the journals,
Also you can snap any camshaft if you tighten it up like a donkey and don't do it properly.
I've seen brand new cat cams snap.

Yeah any cam can snap, but ive known of 3 cases where autosprint regrinds have snapped because too much material has been removed from the lobe and sheared between journal + lobe.

Unless they have undercut the diameter between the journal and the lobe (rough cast bit), then I highly doubt it was anything to do with the regrind, if it was below that then there's every possibility.
