Me and a few guys from work decided to do this, as it was for Help for Heroes.
Everyone, apart from me regularly trains, either through long distance running or gym time.
Me, I eat junk food and watch tv.
I also decided that doing 12 miles through obstacles designed by Ex S.A.S soldiers, up and down massive hills would be too easy, so I did it in a Chicken Suit.
Enjoy!!!
At the start:
Few obstacles in. 15ft jump in to cold muddy water

Arctic Enema: A container, filled with ICE and water. Honestly soo cold you can't imagine.

Still smiling!!!

Mud Mile: Mounds of mud, followed by mud pits Lose your shoes too easily.

Then, jumping through fire, into muddy water again
Bloke stood next to my friend, saw me coming, laughed and said 'He is going to struggle'.
I then jumped through it, splashed down, got out and laughed. His reply 'Maybe Not!!!'

In my opinion, the best photo of me, still loving it after about 9 miles;

Coming up to the finish:

Last obstacle: 10,000 volts going through a few select wires! I got hit, big time!!!

Final stand to the finish:

Just waiting on a finishers photo

How long is the part with the wires? Would it be possible to run at it full pelt and dive through it?

That is pretty much what I though Jamie.
Short answer, no.

fuck!
I was thinking you could dive straight through, surely if no part of your body is touching the ground you wouldnt feel the shock. Seems the organisers thought of that too.
Did the shock fuck you up for a while or was it ok after a few moments?

Was ok after a few minutes.
There is one where you have like a cargo net of barbed wire about 1 foot off thew ground, you have to crawl udner it, but there is about 6 inch of water, with these wires dangling down It is about 20 metres long and it hurts, alot, for a long time I powered through it and got shocked loads, one block dived half way through and splashed everyone, giving most of them shocks
