i'v had enuff of these gay pricks always cutting me up in my car i.e gay nova drivers with Cheap £50 mild steel back boxs, just because i have a bodykit on my car they think i wanna race them, pffffftttttt yeah right like i wanna drop to there level, so i'm thinking about my next car, i have a 1.4L 8v spi, which is to slow, so which is the quicker outta the corsa 1.6 16v or the saxo vts??????? or maybe i'll just get a 2.0L 16V and blow all these away =]

Difference between a VTR and a VTS, VTS is the faster.

The 1.6 corsa in either GSI or Sport is faster than a VTR.
Vts are too quick though, cause their made from Aluminium foil....

106 ralye are slightly quicker than 1.6 sports as standard as they are light (even though same engine as vtr)
VTS and GTI's are 120bhp as standard and also lighter!!!!!!
The're normally over priced though, get a 2.0l or tune a 1.6 up if you wanna stick with a corsa.

VTS's aren't that fast. Citroen made sure that the VTS gearbox could hit 60Mph in second so it could run a fast 0-60 time to make it look like a fast car. I have a Punto GT and it eats VTS's everytime.
With a VTR vs a 1600 Corsa, the Corsa is very slightly (and it is only very slightly) faster in a straight line but when it comes to corners the VTR handles like a VTS or 106 GTi and will leave an un-modded Corsa.
VTS's arent "that" light weight either at 935Kg, a Corsa GSi weighs about 860Kg. I used to have an AX GT, that weighed 720Kg!! and I had it tuned to 100Bhp (138Bhp per ton!!), it would eat VTR's all day.
If you want a fast car the best way to go is either turbo power or a big engine transplant. If you simply buy a VTS you'll be disapointed because they aren't really that fast and there are 100's of cars on the road faster. If you want a fast car go the whole 9 yards and get something really quick.
When it comes to car car modding the only aspect of it I'm interested in is the performance side. I like to look at fancy kits and paint jobs but I'd never spend my money on such a thing. Its all performance for me.

For one your facts are wrong panace. A Corsa GSi/SPort weighs in at around 960kg, and a Saxo VTS is far far lighter, around the 850kg mark. A standard 1.6 Corsa shits all over a standard VTR with ease, as i have done it before. After about 50 they are no match for the XE torque in 3rd gear. I too like my performance over styling every day of the week. My advice is to buy a cheap Corsa SRi/Sport, source a 20XE lump for under £600 and get it fitted profesionally. Then nothing that Citroen make can beat you.

I used to own a saxo vtr as a few of you know, and now got a corsa with a modified sri engine soon to be transplanted, but ive got to say that the vtr is not all that quick, the paxo boys make it out to be the best thing ever, but lets be honest......its a shitroen!!!

A VTS is 935 according to the brochure, and thats the 99 model, later moels may be heavier, and later models have 15" rims with 195/45's as earliers have 14's.
But ask yourself this, or visit www.carreview.org the Citroens have poor build and bad reliability, nearly all reviews on that site (there are loads) name pretty bad problems for new and used cars.
Although the VTS is quicker than Fiesta Zetec S, I bought the S as it was much more substantial. Now I ave a Corsa C, and I can vouch for the Zetec S was crap build quality on comparison. New Fiesta and C3 ude same lapse build and acres of nasty plastic. As I have kids, I want decent build and sound reliability, also I want my car to not fuck up so I can get to work and not get sacked. If you are willing to go the way of most Saxo owners and get speed for sacrificing build quality there are hundreds of faster cooler cars than a Saxo for less money, albeit with poor build.
What bout Yaris T sport, not that quick but look like a midgets MPV with cool body kit ?!?!

Don't get me wrong like the VTS is a cracking little car, the car was stil rates very highly in last weeks Autocar for decent cars under 15k, and was ahead of stuff like Mini Cooper S and other stuff. The Astra gsi turbo looks like a nice fookin motor.

I can vouch for the vtr been slow on the top end I was coming back from pontefract and was up near garforth i came down the slip road doing about 90mph and I saw this vtr/vts? fly past must have been topping out so I kept my foot down and caught up with him and was stuck on his arse then i saw that it was a vtr so again kept my foot down and he pulled out of the way but he must have still had his foot down cos i was taking over him then i looked down and saw i was just over 120mph so my misses moaned at me so i slowed down.

citroen were recently caught out for pushing 130bhp from the vts engine but only claimed it was 120bhp for insurance purposes, Y and 51 reg vts' all have 130bhp
me cuz knows a fella that works for shitroen
as for wot will beat wot:
vtr and 1.6 sport - no diff both 0-60 are in the 9's both top out at around the 120mph mark
vtr and 1.4 sport - vtr wins easily
vts and 1.6 sport - corsa gets raped
as for vts vs 2.0 16v corsa - corsa faster in straight line but saxo faster round corners, vts would be quicker round a track, 2.0 16v quicker up the strip.
