Has to have atleast 1months MOT to tax it, you can drive it to the mot station without tax or mot once its running though.

The people at the post office only check to see if it's in date, they have no way of checking via a computer system. Just tax it that way then bin the blag MOT.

I don't think that's true as such.
I think it depends when the mot runs out and when the tax is due to start.
Like if the mot runs out on the 28th, you couldn't get tax on the 26th etc.

As far as I'm aware, the MOT 'certificate' you get now means sod all as it's all computerised?

Is it off the public highway though? If it's on private property you can SORN it and it's ok, it's only if it's on the public highway it needs tax

As said, scan the mot and change the date. The post office only look at it so there's no risk at all and it will work. Although I would just get it mot'd first
