got a good deal on this standard paper filter... but im not sure whether or not it will implode with the pressure im sucking up.. it shouldnt do really as its braced inside but you never know.

and i fitted a catch tank

I would just get a foam ITG filter or similar. I doubt it's going to fail but for the cost I wouldn't risk it.

That filter only cost about £4 and by all accounts foam filters are crap.

if your referring to the bottle, its really just there to catch the gasses and little bit of oil residue that spills out on full chat, its not really a catch tank if you like. i'm just sick of wiping up the residue all the time so i just got the bottle out of the car and strung it up.

Foam filters aren't crap. Marjority of the racing world that use filters use foam as they can sustain performance better than a cotton gauze filter.

My point is that for spending £80-100, the risk you removing is worth it. Never mind what that filter is doing to your power as an additional restriction.

Everyone uses those bottles as catch tanks in the BMW race series I help my mate in. We do things properly though, cable ties instead of tape

Its cabletied at the top.

Nothing wrong with using a sprite bottle its only to catch the residue and stop it going on the chassis/belt.

and what are the benefits of fitting a lucozade bottle instead of sprite? Was sprite used for its refreshing nature now we have some nice weather? Surely Lucozade sport would be advantageous with their 33% longer claim

In all seriousness, it looks very similar to the OEM integra one i had in my old DC2, albeit it was inside an airbox from the factory. Sounded like a beast without the cover on though

Whilst a drink bottle works fine I'd say for the sake of a couple of quid extra on a small alloy tank, would be worth it purely so it doesn't look like someone's left litter in your engine bay

it isnt a couple of quid tho is it..

its there just to stop the chassis getting covered in gunk.. i dont give a fuck how it looks.. plus aside from not having one at all this must be the lightest option.

Noticed when cleaning my clients today that a Shelby Mustang GT500 uses a paper cone btw:

I'd imagine if that uses one, you should be ok!
