Did a Muscle car experience in Vegas last week. Drove a Jaguar XKR-S convertible, Dodge Challenger SRT, Shelby Mustang GT500, and Corvette ZR1.

The Jaguar was easily the best of the bunch. Such a nice car to drive, and made a hell of a noise when you stamped on the pedal. The Dodge was terrible. Power delivery was weird, steering vague, and didn't feel safe going round a bend. The Mustang was downright terrifying. 662bhp through a manual box with a new rock hard clutch. Glad I only had to make one standing start in that thing. Finally, the Corvette was my second favourite. Another manual but a nice smooth one. Drove nice, rode nice, and felt planted the whole time.

A few pics:

Highly recommend this to anybody going to Vegas. It was well organised, great fun, and although a few hundred dollars it was worth every penny (or cent).

Yeah not really looking forward to it. But thought I might as well celebrate in a big fashion.

How much does it cost and what choice of cars do you get?

Looks brilliant.

Do you get to push the cars, or are they quite strict? I assume they have to keep you fairly under control seeing as you're on public roads, even if they are in the middle of a desert

I did the Muscle Car XL package. Was meant to be a Camaro instead of a Jag, but the Jag was a bonus for me. All in with an in-car video it was about $575. It's meant to be 50 miles, 12.5 in each car, but as we were first out and the only XL package on the day we got to drive there and back, totalling about 70-75 miles in the end. Lasted about 3.5hrs.

Can be done in Exotics too:

that mustang looks utterly mental

Whats the reasoning behind them having the jag? for comparison or just because it's a good car?

They have a code for whent it's safe to boot it. There is a car at front and at the back with the guides in. Every car is linked via walkie talkie and they'll say 'get up to road speeds' if they plan to boot it. Got the Corvette up to about 110mph. All they say is not to redline them, which is fair enough. It's probably about 90% cruising, and 10% giving it some.

The Mustang was ridiculous When I was in the Jag all I could hear was the Mustang!

Not sure what made them go for the XKR-S. It was meant to be a Camaro, but it hadn't been delivered yet.

Nath you're 1 year, 10 days older than me, yet we look 10 years apart.

Can't wait till I start looking like a grown up.

Also, your description of the Challenger holds true for the less powered models as well. Such a terrible car.
Worst part for me was the auto box. It absolutely had no idea what I wanted it to do.
