I am heading to UK this weekend for a holiday and will be staying in Scotland during my stay.

I fly into London Heathrow and want to drive up this friday.

Anyone any recommendations of a cheap car hire for two weeks?

Cheers in advance.

I dont really see it as a long journey but i know what you mean.

A cheap rented car would be faster too.

I think you will struggle to get something "cheap" tbh.

How do car rentals work?? Do you get limited mile's etc depending on the length of hire??

Fly to Scotland?

Having driven it many times now. It's a crap journey. Probably a bit quicker from heathrow but still a good 9 hours driving I guess?

At least, depending on where in Scotland.

If you do drive, use the A1/A1(M) rather than M1/M6 etc.

Look at vans, might be cheaper. Northgate is supposed to cheap.

Europcar is cheapest car hire in my experience.

8 if done at night with no traffic from mine, probably about 7 from heathrow. That doesn't take into account any toilet breaks for the women.

I can believe that, although depends what speed you want to do.

I stuck between 55-60 all the way home. Left at 6:45pm, got home at 3am. Averaged 50mpg, not bad for a 1.25 petrol.

I reckon 5 hours IMO. Im only going just into scotland. 30 miles over the border. Even google says 5hrs 30mins. Speeding fines mean fuck all as i'll be back here by the time they come through.

Fuck getting a bus for that journey, they are uncomfortable travelling 5 miles.

I done Glasgow to London last month and actually enjoyed the drive, was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.
