Any good?

Need something a bit bigger & more robust.

The auto media seem to dislike it but owner reviews see it well and it pips the x3, Q5, freelander on price.

Guessing with you it will be brand new? Repaired a few and never liked any of the Jeep range, but these new facelift ones are extremely nice!! I'd say nicer than freelander too!

Was looking at these earlier in the week because heard the new deals on the radio seem pretty cheap for what you get

I do know that the Diesel engines used in the Jeeps are beyond wank by modern standards.. Seriously agricultural with terrible economy.. I don't know about the really new stuff but even the most recent models have had terrible build quality..

If you want a cheap 'new' 4x4 why not go for a Kia Sportage? I'd bet the depreciation on the Kia is less too

I had a look round a new Sportage the other day when I went to collect some parts for Grandma's Picanto. Seriously nice bit of kit

Absolutely fantastic car once you get over the fact its got a Kia badge

Kia should do a 'no badge option'

I see what's happening here The 2WD manuals are giving reasonable MPG... But compared to a comparable 2WD diesel 'cross-over' that really is quite terrible!

I bought my GHEY CR-V i-DTEC because its up in the top 5 for economical 4x4's and that gives me 40-46mpg combined. depending on how I drive..

I'm afraid the Jeep doesn't make the list

Btw.. I still think the Qashqai+2 1.6dci 4x4 is the best all-rounder.. closely followed by the Kia Sportage.

My Father in-law has the contract for a few large organisations to 'dispose' (basically he has to pay a fixed price for the cars regardless of condition, some you win, some you lose ) of their end-of-life cars.. i.e. stuff that is 3 years old or has been damaged.. The CR-V fell into the 3 year old category, its got high mileage but its tidy and the C1 is damaged (front drivers side, very light).

Quite a few 10/11 plates for sale on AT with over 100k nowhere close to that though.

Yeah the 100k mark does take its toll on a car I know mines not worth £15k because its above average mileage.. But I've got the bonus of the condition and full main-dealer service history.

Either way I'm happy I saved at-least £2-3k

Notice the difference in value between the earlier engine'd models too?

I still think it's down to how it's looked after, both Priuses for example have been lease cars and look SHAGGED after 100k. My Alfa is now on 60k though and doesn't look like it has 2/3rds of the wear that they did...

Compass seemed like a nice enough machine.

I had a 15year old Jeep and it was an absolutely wonderful car. Still miss it. But it was not good at mpg that's for sure

Work on these quite a bit, can't comment on drive etc, but they are built alright.

I'd rather have a 2013 Grand Cherokee, but I know thats in a different class, lots of spec on those and a nice place to be inside.
