Only had this problem come around recently, I fitted shark eye headlights with HID's back in 2011 and they've been fine ever since. But last week I noticed my passengers side dipped beam which is HID isn't working.
Had a spare ballast and that didn't fix it, the bulb itself was a bit cloudy inside so replaced that and still have no luck.
Checked the fuse and it was blown, so replaced it and it blew instantly, I've seen people on other sites having similar issues but they've had no responses.
I also have an issue with the stalk control for my headlight, if you pull it towards you it flashes main beam fine, but if you push it away from you so that main beam is on permanently it doesn't do anything, so was wondering if this was linked somehow?
Anyone got any ideas? Or had this happen to them before?

If it helps, I've just replaced the indicator stalk and it hasn't changed anything.
Nothing comes up on the dash to tell me the dipped beam is on but I can't actually remember if it's done that at all.
The MFD normally alerts me to blown bulbs but it's not telling me anything.

Could be your live wire going to the dip chafed on the bodywork somewhere, hence it's earthing out. When you put your new fuse in it sends more power down it just to earth out again. You need to trace your wiring from the headlight all the way back to your fuse to make sure it's intact and not earthing out anywhere.
