Recently had a oil change in my 1.6i corsa sport 1998 and asked for the 10w/40 semi synthetic oil, turns out the bloke used 5w/30 fully synthetic instead and said he had used a better oil than I asked for. Just wanted opinions on weather this oil will be ok to leave in my engine as a few people have said its ok and others have said change it to the 10w/40.

iirc 5w/30 is the recommended oil, Higher mileage engines may want to opt for 10w/40

Use the genuine vauxhall synthetic 10w40, cheap as chips and has never let me down in my rally cars.
