Has anyone ever done it? Looking to park when we go to see Micky Flanagan on Saturday. Generally speaking it is going to be just as cheap to drive as it will to get a train for 4. And probably take less time. Plus we are unsure of what time the show finishes and catching the last train home - it's 30 minutes from Greenwich to King's Cross alone.

Parking is advised to pre-book for The O2 Arena shows at approximately £21.50.

But for the indigO2, exhibitions in The O2 bubble, bars or restaurants it is not necessary to pre-book your parking. And the parking is cheaper - £11.00 for 9-12 hours.

Question is, how do they know what you're attending for? It has different car parks, but surely on arrival we can just say we're going to get something to eat etc?!

Enjoy the wait getting back out.

My dad took his car as did a mate at work and both had 2 hour waits to get out the car park.

Either park right next to an exit or leave the show early.

Last time I did it, I parked in a retail park one stop up the tube line - a Sainsburys from memory, then there was no queue to get out, and was much quicker to get onto the motorways

Or go for a drink after.

Ben - do you know if your dad did the pre-booking or just chanced it on standard parking pay on exit?

Parked there for a Rihanna concert with the missus. Got back to car and probably only took 10 mins to get out and back on main roads to our hotel. Was brilliant. May have been lucky though?

Cost about 22 quid iirc so must have pre booked.

I paid 7 quid parking when I went to the cinema at the o2 before.

I've been to the o2 quite a few times and I drove the last 2 times. I think I'll drive every time now. It's so much easier and quicker to get out than trying to get down to the tube and back to Kings Cross, only took 5-10 minutes to get out the car park. I pre booked, was £22 I think.

Apparently this is worth it if you don't mind risking it.

Show is it 8pm and we plan to get there for 3.30pm. Reckon we'll get a space.

Just park in the North Greenwich Tube Station car-park. £11 all day I think it is. Separated by a small fence from the O2's actual one.

The tube station is in the general direction of the O2 anyway, so as you walk towards it you get lost in the crowd and nobody knows where you're off to.

As with any car-park near an event, you'll wait a while. Was approx. 45 minutes for me to get out of there after Froch v Kessler in May.

shitloads of spaces at tube station but it wont make any difference exiting as it is literally next door :/

Dependign on your route (Stratford to Ilford to M25 if you're after the M1, IIRC) you may be better of parkign at Westfields in Stratford, 5 mins on tube from O2 and no more exp IIRC

Well I'm driving so the people I'm taking are paying for parking. They decided to do the pre-book.

The daft thing is, get 4 people in 1 not especially economical car, pay £21 to park and it is still cheaper than using public transport
