Anyone got any experience with the above car/engine, looking at a new one as Ive been offered a really good deal by a dealer...
Is the engine not a bit noisy being 3 cylinder?
Cheers

Don't no about noisy I've test drove the 100bhp variant and was really impressed, smooth and easy to drive and quiet. The other half has ordered a titanium x in the 125bhp version should be here Friday.

The engine is very quiet in ours (100 ps, same engine as the 125ps). Goes well enough for a 1 litre.

They are great for such a small engine.
The 125 have a bit more punch which is nice. I'm impressed by the 0-40 sprint in our focus, which makes for easy driving about town. The fiesta will be quite a bit quicker with a couple hundred kg's less weight to move about.

What MPG do you actually get out of your focus? I don't for one second believe the claimed figures.
Yeah the 100bhp was punchy in the fiesta we took out so looking forward to see what the 125bhp is like. Be perfect for her any way, and me when she lets me use it

The missus gets 45mpg, mixture of dual carriageway and urban roads.
I've had 50mpg out of it on the m25, so not bad really
The fiesta has a cracking chassis and the engine really complements it. The zetec s bodykit also looks great and makes it look much more purposeful.

Oh ok blimey, wasn't expecting that much, result then even better then I thought. She's a miss daisy style driver so she'll get the higher number I'd guess.
Yeah the zetec s kit does look good, we looked at them but can't help but think there a bit more 'young lad' style now, that or I'm getting old

We looked at the Zetec-S 125 recently, and were close to getting one.
Ford Dealer wasn't flexible on pricing, and my GF has Vauxhall Partners discount, so the Corsa was a much, much cheaper option.
I'm not the biggest fan of the 1.0 after having a few Focus examples with it, but it felt much better in the Fiesta, probably due to the extra 25bhp and the weight advantage.

Im sure they quote 180 something bhp for insurance and tax purposes but it will make 190 odd with the boost.

I rented a Focus Ecoboost thing and was pretty dubious about the 1.0 3cylinderness of it, but i was thoroughly impressed!
Hit 120mph in it and wasnt painfully slow to get there. Miles faster than my mates rented Fabia 1.4 Turbo.
Seemed to go better with traction control turned off strangely?
Get one.

Me too. Had a look round one at the dealers. It was the guys own car and sounded great with the mountune pack on it.
Looks great aswell. But I know i'll be disappointed going back to FWD.

My mate got a new one a year ago, 125bhp version and cost £12,500, with 2 year finance.
For a 1.0 it pulls really well and feels solid through the gear changes.
It's very quiet and does 35mpg urban.
Check out the Ford Formula Ecoboost 1.0

There mad the ford formula 200+ BHP and in the top ten quickest cars around the ring.

You'll piss it. My '04 Fiesta 1.4 16v does 38mpg - 42mpg, which is proper old tax emitting a load of Co2 costing near on £200 for 12 months tax

Well I can definitely recommend the 125 ecoboost, picked the other half's up this afternoon and am sooo impressed with its performance. Dead smooth and has some good grunt for a small engine, the engine its self is quite as any other. All in all over the moon.

Noice.
Option to go for for those not doing the miles to warrant diesel.
How does the price compare to say their standard 1.25?

You definetly wouldn't be disappointed if you went and test drove one. We picked it up from Ford yesterday with 7 miles on the clock and are being told they only get better once you get some miles on the engine already after around 100 miles of mixed driving its sat on 43mpg
Price wise we didn't order ours through a dealer and didn't pay there prices either so can't really comment on that. When we went in to test drive one we did have to get a quote, and the only engines that seemed to make the price higher were the diesels.
