Anyone else with a newish BMW had problems with the rear tyres wearing on the inside really bad?
I just had to replace 2 rears ob mine, covered 16k middles still had about 3-4mm but on inside one was right through to threads and other not as bad but still pretty worn. Bloke said apparently it's very common!?
Only kwik fit open today so had to cough up £530 for them and that was with a supposed 25% discount!
Still not as bad as the RS and 5k miles between changes

Why not put normal tyres on? Runflats make the ride a lot harsher.

I'd rather take the bus and wait for decent places to open than use Kwik fit for tyres! I always get rid of run flats on my BMW cars. I hate the harsh ride and noise

I'll be rid of this soon, need it for tomorrow so didn't have much choice other than replace them.

What car is it? We do a lot of work for a hire/lease company, and have had a few 11/12 plate X5's in, M Sport versions, which the tyres have been well worn on the outside edges really bad, all with 10-15k on. They said its a common thing on them.
OT one of them was the M50d and was very fun

Sounds like the air pressure wasn't maintained hence the odd wear. I did it to mine on an old company car.

Mine were the same, looked like they had 3-4mm on them and on the inside they were almost illegal.
The ATS guy couldn't even get them off with the machine in his van, he had to take it to his garage and then he ended up using so much force on them he cracked both wheels
If it weren't for the fact I couldn't get a full size wheel in the wheel well's I woulda gone for normal tyres

Dad not had such problems in his 120d SE with M Sport suspension. In fact ride & noise isn't too bad. Must be good without them.

Had problems with a E93 coupe on runflats, along with several fractured M-Sport 19" wheels

To add - Known issue on E90s from what I remember, sure I could remember looking at the time.

not with rears - last set did 38k
Fronts are terrible - they do last about 18k but the outer edge wears badly due to them having no give on the sidewall

Most tyre shops will match online prices if you ask. I was given just under ₤110 discount on a set of fronts on Saturday by asking, guy didn't bat an eyelid either.

Bmw won't cover cracked wheels claims if the run flats aren't being used.

I got quoted £1000 for 4x Sport Contact 5's at a chain shop. Told him about my £440 online price and he said "Ah, but then you'll have to pay for fitting on top"

You have to look at the Black Circles or E Tyres price if you're going to try it. No point giving them a Camskill tyre only price as it's not a fair comparison.
