Have you're got a bumper type case on it? Some cheaper ones seem to encourage accidental pushing of the buttons.

Is the restart thing a feature or a fault? Sounds a bit broken, which would make it a warranty issue.

How much do they sell for second hand? Might not be too expensive to upgrade to the Nexus 5.

Get one of the moulded plastic wafer thin cases, wont add much to the dimensions of the phone but the power button will sit resessed

I bet there's a tweak to disable the power button, probably require rooting though.

Have a look at lockscreen protector, which will allow you to set a custom power menu when the phone is locked.

Alternatively alter the key mappings - here, here. This requires root.

Edit - GEEK DAY

Install, enable custom power menu, remove power and restart.....does it not work?

Edit - Scrap that, just tried it....you shouldn't need root.

No power menu shows but keep holding the power button and it'll restart after about 5/6 seconds

Can't say i've seen that happen on an Android device; i assumed the power menu was displaying and you were somehow pressing it (thinking about it, that shouldn't be impossible ).

Disabling the power key mapping is about the only thing i can suggest. Might be worth looking on XDA.

I can't believe you topped a thread over a month old just to have a dig about Samsung. Not sure what's worse, Samsungs dealing of that issue or your obsession with Apple over Samsung
