Just because you think its hard to do doesnt mean its fake, there plenty of examples of people who can draw photo realistic pieces of work, digital or good old pen and paper.

There's lots of people that are very good at hyper realistic drawings but the so called ipad drawing and the actual photograph are far too similar, infact they are just a tad different shade.

I get what you mean, just seems a bit odd that he'd put his propername to it and on his portfolio site, thats whats going to get him work, what happens when someone requests some work of the same standard and gets back something like your representation
