It sticks better. Doesn't leave residue and is water resistant. I hate using anything else

Just get the clear stone chip protector as used on astons etc. Any vehicle wrapping place will sell it. The blue tape just makes the car look broken

I just leave my car to get stone chipped. Then if it gets bad. Get it re painted.
Tom you should be all for this method... Hahaa

Think you look like a right tit driving down the road with a bonnet and bumper full of tape.

In all honesty Flaffy if i had just had my car repainted id want to keep free from stonechip as best i could!

Ben its mainly used for motorway commutes to and from shows etc as stones tend to flick up higher and harder than just on your everyday road! Also used to keep parts free from dead flies and stuff so its easier/quicker to clean once arrived So no mate its not used everytime you use the car

Your car is a machine made for traveling. You only use tape when traveling? So you have the tape on all the time? Or is there a mileage limit on said traveling distance? Or maybe a road type restriction?

Stone chips when going to the shops or to work are fine but not motorway ones?

Do us a favour and facepalm yourself with a brick.

Are these people immune from getting stonechips anywhere other than the front bumper and bonnet? I know i've had stonechips on my roof and rear arches.

Hell you might aswell cover your windscreen too as that will also get chipped.

True true.
I'd rather not look a tit though man. Just get the stone chips and get your bumper painted. Or as mentioned above. Get some clear paint protectant film? Then you won't look a tit and your paint won't chip.
As for the bugs and that just get yourself a good quick detailer and it will be reet as rain

Imagine trying to explain to people that you're taping up the front of your car because you're going on the motorway

I'm all for the car looking like it should the whole time.
No tape. No protection film. I repainted my front end just before selling the Porsche due to stonechips. But if anyone wants some then I'll sell you it
