Those new 1 series don't actually look too bad in the metal. It's only in pictures that you notice the oversized headlamps.

Thats the idea, it looks like a normal car. There are small things on it that mark it out. Huge f-off brakes for starters. Same as a 135i BMW. Made to look fairly standard.

Old one has 265bhp, new one has 300bhp. They will stomp on a VXR in a straight line.

They handle a bit lifeless, very dead, but it goes well, and stops well without looking like a chav. People who want this look go for the new ST/Seat/VXR/Megan hot hatch.

I would say thats bang on the money for 'S' cars. 'RS' is a different kettle of fish.
