Hi all!
I currently have a 106 which is being shifted to get a Corsa B (Always preferred them to the 106) and was wondering what are the "must have" mods for the Corsa? On the 106, the things many people do is get a GTI Interior, Pod filter, lowering springs, lower the torsion bar, MR tail lights, back box etc. What do most people do to their Corsas? I know that the Punto rear wiper is a popular mod. What else?

It will be getting a new engine. Wont be that big. A 1.4 8v with Nova GSI cam and it's been ported and polished so should go ok, especially since the car I buy will be a 1.2 8v

It'll be kept simple mate, I'm no fan of crazy looking cars. Want it lowered on a set of corsasports and that will be it for the more "major" visual mods. Other things will be wee things

Nah, will leave that to Max Power Novas circa 2003

What do the V6 brakes come off? A Vectra? In 106 land, we often use GTI brakes or even brembos from a 406 coupe

No point changing from a 1.2 8v to a 1.4 8v. At least go to a 1.6 16v.

1.2 8v has 45bhp as far as I know. This 1.4 is putting out around 90. The wheels spin in first and second in the dry with good tyres and I'm getting the engine for £80 and it's a straight swap. I'm happy enough with that for now I will go bigger in the future. Gotta be a LET

Another one from Northern Ireland on CS! If from Magherafelt you gotta go "felt" spec this will mean nothing to those outside NI (or, OP if does not get the joke).

That doesn't mean its powerful, just sounds like awful driving.
8v has 82bhp (MPI engine from the SRi. The SPI engine had like 60bhp). Cam and twin 40 carbs is the way to go, but don't expect a rocketship, 100-110bhp with head work etc.
Exhaust, cam, filter alone will stuggle to hit 90bhp.
As for the car. GSi sucks. Irmscher Airdam, Stieny skirts is where the old skool cool is.

It won't be going "felt" spec, haha! There won't be a CB whip or sun strip in sight

Not all I care about at all. Just saying that it shows the engine has a little bit of go, haha. There will be no decking, straight piping or CB whipping, haha

Not awful driving at all. I'm not talking about driving like a twat to get it to do that in a first to second gear. I just mean it looses traction if you put your foot down in second. My 106 won't do that, shows the corsa will have a little more balls, haha.
Thanks for the information on the engines power figures. I'm pretty sure its a multipoint engine my mate has but I'm driving the car tomorrow before it has its engine removed to make way for an X18XE1 so I will see for myself what she goes like
Also, will look into those parts you mentioned. Cheers mate

uh?
My old 2.0 16v didn't loose traction in 2nd,
Our LET doesn't loose traction in 2nd,
Our old VXR didn't loose traction in 2nd,
But a 20 year old 80bhp 1.4 Corsa does?
Is it on tyres actually made from plastic or the roads are made from ice? Its the driver I'm afraid.

I actually bumped into the bloke last summer who tested it on mine back in 2000 (I popped into a shop to get something welded). Had a good natter about it and how people went out and bought the legendary cossie cones

Did you have a ported and polished 1.4 8v with a cam from a Nova GSI?
