Are white cars as common/more common than silver cars now? Driving around you see them everywhere?
They still look good but no longer seem like the different choice any more. If you're looking on Autotrader for a car chances are there will be loads of white ones and probably not as many in other colours.
Thoughts & random ramblings welcome?

My missus wants a white car. I don't want a white car because in a year or so it'll be impossible to sell I reckon

Doesn't matter how common they are, white still looks far less bland than silver.

After owning one a white I would have another one in a heart beat
They are easy to maintain in terms of washing and making them look good
However on our compnay scheme we now have to pay for white even if its a no cost option as its suggested the car is worth less at the end of its scheme
White also only works on certain models I feel

My Mum has a white car and so does my Dad. They haven't got particularly flash cars either so if anything it makes them look cheaper imo.
When you used to see a white car like an Audi or Merc it used to look a lot more stand out and special than now when you don't have to drive far before you see a bottom of the range Ford Focus/Kia/Hyundai in white as well

Definitely, do see some white cars and think I'd have that in white. But it has to be the right car

If you want a White car, get one. Fuck what people say/think. Can't go round your whole life worrying what other people might say.

There's certain cars it has to be white IMO i.e. a Fiat 500 or a VW Golf GTI.

If I saw the right car that suited white I'd buy one.
This thread was just a general observation that white now seems to be the default colour of choice for a lot of people when buying a new car.

Well yes true, but it would be pretty silly, don't you think? Or are you baiting?

Yeah fair enough mwg. To be honest, I'd have a white car, not a bad choice colour imo.

Was fashionable in the early 90s although not as much as now.
I went to a Merc dealer years ago when I was after a CLK, asked about a white one - guy said he'd never seen one and if he did, he's certainly do his best never to have it on his forecourt.
I would think fashion will return to that point.
I've always been in to it as a colour on cars - but I do think it will come to an end this time around.

Totally dependant on the vehicle IMO. Some look amazing in white, others not. Definatley a popular choice now though.

The massive spike came when Police cars became silver, in Scotland anyway.

Probably 10 years or so ago if you saw a white car you'd think chances are it was an ex police car

A good indication of trends is to look at manufacturers offical brochures
They tend to picture the model line up in the colours they feel represent the car the best
I think my next car will be white again - or certainly a light colour

I fancy a light colour next. Always had black and grey cars so far and every one of them has been hard to keep looking clean. The grey cars been ok, doesn't show the dirt too bad but black wheels are a nightmare. I doubt I'll ever have black wheels again!

When looking for an e92 M3 i found probably one of the most common colours to be white.
I liked my S2000 in white as it was a rare colour.
