Long time coming in my opinion. Seems to work well in Spain.

Good idea. Stops decent players being bought by rich clubs then left to rot on the bench.

Whats the idea then, a new league independant of the current football pyramid? I am not comfortable at all with the idea of a Man Utd B playing in the football league. Not in the slightest.

I think they play in the 3rd tier of Spanish football. Not sure if they are actually allowed to be promoted to the Segunda, its a bit of a farce really, but they get away with it over there because no one gives a shit about anyone outside of the top division, bar one or two big teams that drop out of La Liga.

England is quite unique in its strength of divisions below its top flight. Something to be proud of.

Barca B and Real Castilla - Reals 2nd team are in the second tier, in Spain, as said they can't get promoted. And also as said, as long as there is no link to the actual league pyramid then they can knock themselves out. The second they start trying to playing against real teams. I'm out.

At least I'm pretty sure they're in the segunda.

So, after a quick skim through of that article, its going to replace the u21s league, and involve a few championship teams. Scudamore also claims he wants the international team to succeed, and this B league will help what a load of crap. He doesnt give the slightest shit about the national team

Agreed. No other country in the World has a League system as competitive and respected as England, that shouldnt be messed with just because Prem teams and the national team want to improve themselves

Just read the article. So basically they arent changing anythign in reality the top clubs will STILL send their best young players out on loan and the U21/B/Reserves league will still be pap

Also, this shows how deluded the guy is in general: "It will happen in my lifetime, that England will get to a final.''

Utterly ridiculous. Why would anyone ask a club that is 2 years old to join anything?

I was listening to how this currently works in Spain earlier.

Basically they have a Barca B and RM B that are in the equivalent division to our championship, Barca B are 3rd and RM B are in relegation.

They can go down but cant go up to La Liga, due to the A team being there.

That begged the question from me, what would happen if the A team were to be relegated if both teams aren't allowed to operate in the same league?

No because the b team would be in the league below the a team.

A bet question is what if a team got relegated and b team got promoted? Could the a teams players then play for the b team?
