I'm in the market for a new TV, reckon I can go up to 50" for main lounge telly
So far I've been looking at Panasonic TXL50ET60B, seems to get very good write ups but some owners have had problems with lines showing on screen.
It needs to be as slim as possible as it's being wall mounted flat against the wall, anyone else got any personal recommendations?
General TV viewing via Sky HD (70%) bluray films (25%) and gaming very rarely. (5%)

Agree with that. Mine is showing blue/green pixels after 18 months and more than the tv is worth to fix appartently

This again...
Plasma are hands down the best value, there's just no way around that.
That they're slowly disappearing from production or that someone once had one that broke does nothing to change that.

I prefer plasma for dark rooms, parents Panasonic plasma is superb, I went for the 50" LCD in the end due to the sheer slimness and picture quality was really good, also bought a Denon AVRX2000 AV amp, 5x Monitor Audio C165 ceiling speakers and a Monitor Audio Radius 390 sub while I was at it
