4G is LTE, LTE is the techology... in North America they use LTE as the terminology rather than 4G as we say ehre. are you in the US or using an america iphone?

4G refers to it being 4th gen mobile technology, like 3G was 3rd gen. There are two types of 4G technology, LTE being the one used in the UK. There's another version used in other countries (not sure what it's called) but it's why there were two versions of iPhone on sale in the States depending on which network you used.

Gazza - the iphone4/4s isn't 4G capable

It's well documented that it's to do with AT&T

The AT&T network in the states - it classes it's HSPA+ network as a 4G network.

Ah it'll probably be that,

All I noticed is my little icon at the top changes to 4G, and in my options it gives you the choice to disable 4G instead of 3G,

Did have a screen shot but can't find it as I was confused at what was going on due to having a 4s.
