Basically want to switch insurance companies from an insurer who don't allow mods to one that does, any one had experience in the cost of doing this? (With co-op)

What if I called them and said to the geezA on the phone I've put some coilovers on - would he end my policy for breaching it? (Therefore no cost to me)?

Not interested in no claims (don't have one anyway)

I'd imagine he'll either charge you extra for modifying your car, or say that you're invalidating your policy and charge you an admin/cancellation fee to end it. I haven't been in that situation though, so that's just a guess!

Cancellation fee should only be about £20 anyway

I did this once on a little Corsa C Van i had because they wouldn't insure my new motor as it was a car.

I tend to pay up front for my insurance and the fuckers took around £200 of me when i'd taken into account the months i had used. Won't make that mistake again!

From my experience they tend to take advantage of your 'contract' and rape you for any amendments.

If I want to make any changes I always ask it theoretically first so I know what they'll do without committing...ask them what would happen if you were to add coilys and see what they say first

I'm with a specialist and they don't charge you for any additions to your policy.

Nice to know when adding bits to my car .
