My role in work has a dreadful amount of networking related queries which I'm starting to struggle with. The network isn't my responsibility however I'm not able to articulate some issues and understand some responses.
This has made me rethink and rather than go and find a networking course, I was wondering if there are any good, introductory based websites for networking. Stuff that allow me to understand terms, phrases, why or how general networks are set up the way they do.
Don't get me wrong, I understand some really basic things and I am picking up how our network is set up in work but I still feel I'm missing a huge part of it and it's down to me not understanding the basics.

I can't recommend self learning CCNA enough, I thought I knew a lot about IT before sitting that course and it's given me a great background for other areas of my work. I happened to go into networking to a fair depth a couple of years ago and it's amazing how far the CCNA knowledge took me.
I learned it all with the CBT Nugget video series for it, it's probably been updated a few times since I did it - but well worth looking into IMO.
