Have they all gone?

After the surge of mental showcars, and before everything went GSI look, all the Irmscher stuff was in fashion, lower lips, airdams, irmy rears, steiny bits etc. I like to have a look through the project section, but rarely see any of these items anymore (maybe the odd set of Steiny skirt).

Have they all gone, been broken or something? The airdam was a mini M3 bumper, looked mega.

That's like asking if the combat kit and flip paint is still around. Of course it is, but generally looks shite so rarely seen.

Was the Irmscher stuff really THAT common back then though??

In the Vauxhall scene on the whole, Irmscher stuff has always been quite exclusive due to the extortionate prices.

CorsaCal, spotted that I'd have to modify it though.

As for extortionate prices, not really. £100-£200 on a fibreglass bumper, or £300 on a plastic one, get what you paid for (or £225 for the rear). Standard front bumpers cost nearly that. I never considered buying the plastic items that expensive for the material. You would usually see quite a lot of it about.

I'll have a look see if I can find a project post.

I remember in 2001 a chap turned up in a brand spanking new 1.6 16v in white, fully loaded with Steinmetz/irmscher items (just minus rear bumper) he'd bought from the dealer. Was like £2k-£3k more than normal (new 1.6 was £11,500)

Im not believing a front bumper was £300. Front grille for a Corsa C was about £200 alone.

Im sure it was around that. I bought the Irmy rear brand new for £225. I know it wasn't over £350, im sure it was about £300.

For a Vectra B, the Irmscher front with fogs (GSi basically) and rear skirt came to over £700 before painting (got the receipt).

The lower bumper grille was just shy of £200, and the Irmscher metal sill plates (x4) were £140.

Havn't got the receipt for the side skirts though, but a set sold on the FB pages for £225 recently.

Reiger was immense. As was Irmscher. Steinmetz grill was my favourite grill.

I had a Steinmetz gear knob bought from Steinmetz in Norfolk!

Mine's long gone. Had the front and rear Irmscher bumpers, car's no longer registered so they're either scrapped or sold on.

ive got an irmscher airdam on mine, although slightly modified. Same with the pre97 front valance and splitter, again modified and smoothed to make a single bumper.

Also have a brand new Irmscher lower rear spoiler for the pre97 rear bumper, still in irmscher box with all fittings etc.
