Hey guys. I'm looking to upgrade my cpu next week on payday for a faster processor. The setup i currently have is a gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV motherboard on a Zoostorm system thats holding a Intel G860 Processor.

I've been looking around and the Intel Core i5 3570 seams like a good deal. Looking for something going to be able to handle Ableton 9 better.

My questions are, will the I5 3570 just go straight in, without having to upgrade power, fans?. Theres a cheap 3570 going on ebay but its just the chip. And does anyone have any recommendations for processors other than the one listed for my budget of £150?

Thanks in advance

The CPU upgrade will be a straight swap, the stock cooler should cope just fine and the power requirements aren't a lot higher.

CPU should be a straight swap (provided the i5 is socket 1155 - double check that).

Intel G860 TDP is 65W, i5 is 77W (runs hotter). See how you go with the existing heatsink, if temps are high may need to swap it out for something better.

I'd go with a http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Graphics-BX80646I74770-Generation-Technology/dp/B00CO8TBOW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403376828&sr=8-1&keywords=intel+i5

Personally, can also give it a little overclock on the stock cooler.
