Emptying the loft out and I've discovered a massive stash of brand new cables I've accumulated over the years. I'd rather not just throw them out (seems very wasteful to me?!), can I donate them to anyone / anything?

You'd be surprised the rubbish people buy on eBay.

I'd keep them though, I'm a hoarder for that sort of stuff.

Could also keep them for the next time you take asbestos to the tip in asda bags, could bribe the guys.

That's the attitude that has got me in the current situation PC's are old tech to me now, I play games on the Xbox, laptop/tablet for work, no need for me to have any parts kicking about especially when I need the loft space for my sons toys/furniture/clothing he is fast growing out of ready for the potential next one and no garage!

I know a couple of guys who make a living from eBay. Sold a big box of cables for £50 to one of them when we moved house.

I recently emptied my drawer of cables as I had no use for them and got pissed off with the tangled mess

Week later I needed one of them

FFS, just put them on Gumtree as a job-lot and then take them to the tip* when they don't sell

*or the "recycling centre" if it makes you feel better
