Does anyone know if Adams are available with the 1.0 Ecotec engine yet? The Vauxhall website sucks, it seems like their marketing guys think that the engine is irrelevant when choosing a car (or they're embarrassed that they released a new car with such an old engine).

Still useful to know

Do you know if this is one of their new motors or is it based on the old stuff they've been churning out for years?

The engine or car?

Engine I whole new design, forged internals from what I've read. Far better than the A16LER.

Engine - I heard they were doing a new family of them, which new new 3cyl is part of, so was wondering if this was one of them. Didn't realise the car was based on the Corsa C though, I'm a little dubious about this car now...

Love the way people just invent facts:

The Adam is based on a shortened version of Corsa D platform. The three-door hatchback measures 3.70 metres in length and 1.72 metres in width, seats four people comfortably, and is Vauxhall’s first entrant into a segment which has grown by 30 per cent since 2000.[4]

Sorry for reading incorrect information from a main dealer's website, you'd expect them to be able to get their facts right?

Sorry that sounded a bit aggressive didn't it

How strange - perhaps when they say Corsa 3rd generation they aren't including the Nova?

They wouldn't as it was a nova, not a corsa in this country.

I thought the 1.0 in the Adam was all new? It's not the old Suzuki engine, it's a 1.0 Turbo is it not?

In August 2013, Opel introduced an all-new 1.0 three cylinder SIDI Turbo engine, with direct injection and Start/Stop system, which have under 100 g/km CO
2 emission and is Euro 6 compliant. This new engine will be available from Spring 2014

Sounds awesome tbh

Yea, it's supposed to be a rival to the Ecoboost and Multiair things Ford and Fiat are building. The Ecoboosts are meant to be fantastic and the Twinair is meant to be great too; you really notice the difference when you get in something with an old 1.4 or 1.6 after driving one of these modern engines.

I'm quite liking the 500 lately as a small funky car.

Fords ecoboost 1.0 is a great piece of engineering but apparently the real world fuel economy figures are a big let down in the Focus, pretty sure the Fezza would be better given the lighter shell.

Ref the thread, its not just Vx who miss important engine data, a lot of VM's dont even bother stating capacity these days. Will tell you everything economy related as im guessing, thats what sells these days.
