Just had to haggle with Admiral to get £40 off the price of my insurance! Can't find it cheaper anywhere else, their renewal was pretty much the cheapest!

Anyone else finding this?

My insurance has gone down every year apart from when I've changed cars to something more expensive/faster.

You have claims that work against you have you not? Also, I was recently told that 30 is the new 25 in terms of insurance.

I've not seen a big drop since I turned 21 (bar moving from Merseyside to Yorkshire). The only thing I've noticed lately was that Phil's insurance went down when he added me on the other month, before that, putting me on had always added at least 100 quid.

I didn't get a big jump at 25, had been getting progressively cheaper anyway. I've never paid extra any year, unless its been a more expensive car to insure.

I never even noticed a big jump when i went from 1 years NCB straight to 6. Was only saving about £60 a year on the same car.

Likewise; turning 25 didn't really make a huge amount of difference. Instead, insurance has got cheaper as the years went on although at 28 it seems to have plateaued tbh.

seems most companies max no claims seem to be 9, so once youve reached that, i guess its only going to change depending on your postcode etc?

Think you're right Nic.

Biggest difference i found was tweaking the job title using http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance-job-picker/ - saved about £60/70; that and using cashback offers.

I always have a play about with job titles but that seems to make just about no difference for me now.

One I came across while getting insurance for my brother was the excess. Increasing the voluntary excess significantly increased the quote, haven't seen that before.

Have you tried adding the Mrs?

Mine went down about £30 this year (multi car on Admiral) but there's been a few changes. Claimed twice as people keep driving into me outside my house/work, got married, moved into a house outside of Liverpool but still in Merseyside and changed the 1.4 06 plate Astra to a 1.4 60 plate 207.

Insurance is a bit mad, doesn't make sense.

I always have a play with it but just found it weird the cheapest I could find was my renewal! Never mind, there's always next year!

Now having a child under 16 seems to have brought mine down quite a bit. Oliver Cromwell and Steve must be paying peanuts now.
