According to the number plate you are correct!

From the outside that is a pretty phenomenal job, better than any MR2 based replica.. But the interior is gash and its a bloody auto

You went to the hassle of checking the car via the plate??

Why not just read the eBay ad.

It was less hassle to check the plate on my phone than it was to read all of the bullshit in the advert ..

It's not really a rep if he has bought a chassis from Ferrari unless I have misread it, more of a kit car so bar the engine its pretty much a Ferrari. He gives some indication to the values spent but something in me wants to call bullshit if he's happy accepting 15k. Why not just buy a 355 and slap a new engine in it for 70k.

£70k lost.

At least the £70k original ones will hold a bit of it.

Just to help you understand why people do this, there was an article in one of the kit car mags a few months back with a guy who sold his real lambourghini and built a kit car copy.

He says, most people cannot tell the difference, but more importantly, the running costs are dramatically lower.

Insurance dropped from £5500 to £230
servicing at a dealer was £1000 every few months, he now does it himself for under £100

So, if you had £70k and only 70k, yes you could buy one, but not drive it

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Still think you'd need a lot of services to offset the fact his is worth about 25% of what he's got in it.

true, but each to their own. Who is to say building it was more important to him, he wanted to build a car, he did. could have spent that on a horse and it dies after ten years

If he wanted to build a car what was the point in building a replica lambo? That's a crap excuse, he could have built anything, like an ultima gtr, which is cheaper to service. I bet there isn't 1 person in the whole world who's genuinely sold their supercar to build a replica because of the running costs.

Keep it long enough and it will appreciate. So won't lose money.

A kit car will be shit. Why not buy a Caterham? Or an old Esprit. Weirdos tbh.

Or sorry it's "different" because real 355's have been done to death
