Any point of these? Am building a new engine and wondering whether to bother or not?

Old engine didn't have one.

Got it coming now. Will probably fit it as it gets rid of some shitty pipe work.

What's happened to the good old days of using an old plastic juice bottle with a bit of rubber hose going into it, with some duct tape to hold it in place.

This is how it's done...

I just have mine venting to atmosphere though. Pipe comes off the rocker and down the back of the block.

They are worth having if you are going to drive on track.... oil pools in heads, sloshes about etc, and can get blown out breathers on occasion.

also worth having if you'd rather octane lowering oil vapours didnt go into the inlet and combustion

If you have it vented near the bulkhead - be prepared to have smelly air in the car. Possibly run a length of hose under the car rather than a wee K&N breather filter thing.
