The question was Russ - has anyone had any experience with Lion batteries. Forget what vehicle this is for.

Stop being a simpleton and phone around local motor factors and find the cheapest one you can, fit it and forget about it.

I've only used Rhino batteries before.
They need a good charge though.

Bought a bosch s4 from eurocarparts for about 65 quid.
Why scrimp on something like that? Come winter, you'll go ape shit if it fails.

Cheap is as cheap does Andrew.
Better off with a Bosch, Hoppecke, or Varta if you can stretch to it.
If it's a Ferrari 308, stick an Optima on it

The Bosch S4 comes with 3 years warranty which will certainly out live my time with the car.

S4 should have 4 years warranty.
The number dictactes the warranty period. S5 being the longest.

Do you apply the same logic with tyres, food and toilet paper?

I bought one of those cheap lion batteries from Eurocar parts for £30odd quid. It had a 3 year warranty and was still going strong after 3 year when I sold the car.
