Anybody used one of these?
http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision-plus
Looking to order next friday, good reviews, good footage,, easy to use, and can plot out your course via iPad, including height details etc if you're crap at flying it...
I'm buying it to create a hole-by-hole video of a Golf Course. This seems the best drone available without arseing about building / configuring one.
If not the above one, what would you recommend, for no more than £1000.
Thanks

been looking at getting one of these myself... actually u2u'd steve today as im sure he has more knowledge...
think im gonna go for the standard phantom 2 and then add the h33d gimbal and the new go pro hero4 (seen some people saying it needs a little bit of a mod to fit due to a new button on the side but others who say its fitted straight on.... either way fitting that gimbal looks very easy.
the above looks like it would cost £1043 (although the wifi extender only comes with the vision plus (i think) and thats like another 80quid...
only upside of the vision plus is the stills raw mode i guess... but option of shooting 4k or 1080 at 120fps (i think) would be better... and the video quality generally looks better even with the go pro 3+
if steve or anyone else in the know could comment/guide id appreciate it!

The Vision 2+ is a great bit of a kit but you are limited by what you can do with it due to the fact it uses WIFI to communicate with your smart-phone to display the video.. Because of that you're stuck using the strange DJI proprietary 5.8ghz RC gear (because RC gear is normally 2.4ghz which obviously would interfere with WIFI).
If you're budget will stretch go for the following:
DJI Phantom 2 + H3-3D Gimbal.
GoPro Hero3/3+ Black.
ImmersionRC 600mW 5.8GHz Video Transmitter.
ImmersionRC 5.8GHz Fat Shark Receiver Module.
Fat Shark Dominator/Dominator2 or Dominator HD video goggles.
Set of ImmersionRC SpiroNet 5.8GHz antennas.

Just to clarify Will, Only the Phantom Vision/Vision+ uses WIFI and thus requires the WIFI extender.

Also its well worth getting yourself a back-pack so you can safely lug it around

I wanted one but already got bored of seeing what fields and trees look like from above so gave up on that idea.
How come the Dji ones are so expensive? i've seen others with cameras etc for about £100 or less

DJI stuff is top-notch.. You're getting one of the best flight-controllers on the market and very high quality gear..
A £100 Hubsban X4 FPV is no comparison to a Phantom V2.

FAA have a draft set of rules basically banning drones. If they manage to push that through it'll end up being the same over here.

Thankfully the CAA are supporting the commercial and recreational use of Drones.

As above. When it comes, i'll do the silly course and send all forms to CAA. Bugger all cost, and means everything is legal if people moan.

Silly course? You mean the B-NUC?? You do realise that costs about £2,500 to do.

Done any flying yet?
There are (un-confirmed) rumours of a new version of the Phantom (called the Triumph) if there is any truth in that the price of the V2 will soon be slashed in typical DJI fashion.

Better hurry up and get your drones bought and used, the government is panicking about them being used by Papparazi, theives and terrorists

The panic is laughable.. Maybe we should ban cameras on sticks, zoom-lenses and back-packs while were at it?
