Looking at finding on over the weekend. What are the common problems etc
Going for the tdv6 05/06 plate.

Oil contamination via the cooler.
Suspension compressor failure.
Bushes if its similar setup to RR, big job
March 06 onwards its also daft tax.

Yea already seen the tax that's why I was looking for 05/06 as the tax doubles to near £500

Belts are a big job as well, they're on the front and rear of the engine. Have been told stories of the body needing to come off to do it, but easier methods might be known now!

Just avoid landrover full stop. My engine blew at 20k at three years old .
Had landrovers in family from new and everyone of them has had serious issues . I would never get another . Like Ian said raise suspension and listen to compressor , if it's noisy leave it alone as they are circa a grand . They also rot and look like they have spent 10 years in the sea . That's at 6 months old . Over priced shite and that's the full range .

If the full service history isn't 100% land rover and or have receipts for genuine parts then I wouldn't touch . If I could recommend anything it would be to buy from landrover dealership . You will pay more but you will get more cover when it eventually breaks . I was up until a few months ago going to order a new sport for next march but I wouldn't touch any of them with a barge pole now .

General wear and tear on the suspension because they weigh more than mars and most people drive them like a sh*t-c*nt:
Bushes, Arms, Ball-joints, Air-suspension (being the most expensive to fix).
A lot will come up for sale when the cam and pump belt needs doing as its an ARSEHOLE of a job, so don't assume you're getting a bargain if the work needs doing.

Correct! The main cam-belt can be done with the body on, the rear requires the body to come off.. Its an 'ancillary belt' so to speak so most people don't bother doing the rear belt and just pray it doesn't fail.

Surely if you took your landrover to get a belt done and you were told its going to take all week and cost 5k to do because the body needs to come off, you would have grounds for getting landrover to foot a lot of that bill due to designing something that isn't fit for purpose. I would think making a vehicle reasonably serviceable would fall into that.

Yeah any car over 225g/km. Prior to 23rd March it'll be K, currently £280pa. After that date, same car, same engine, same trim, same radio L £475pa or M £490 if its over 255.
Complete piss take rip off if you're on the wrong side of it which a lot of cars are. Freelander 1 auto being another one, in fact most LR. Monaro is another example. That and the Z4 are a piss take as they're probably going to occasional cars these days. Wankers.
