When the time comes, how will you be buying your car tax?

(Ian, I know you want it daily but )

I do it direct debit now because it works out cheaper for me. I change my cars a lot so I've no need to cancel and claim tax back losing a month and the fees. Even if I kept the car for 12 months I think the 12 month direct debit works out cheaper than paying the two 6 months off in one go like I used to do.

Always do 6, never anticipate keeping my cars for too long, although I've had the current one a while now. Don't suppose it matters much now it's non-transferrable though.

More than likely just stick 12 months on it, rather just pay it and get it out the way.

I do mine 12 months at a time, but when i'm able to do direct debit, i'll most likely do that, unless it works out more expensive.

Missus' one will be yearly. It's only 30 quid.

Direct Debit costs slightly more Ben but it's 5% more, BMW has cost me £189 rather than £180 so it's not a huge difference.

£15.75 per month plus £23.19 per month for the Clio.

Means not worrying about a £445 bill in December which also happens to be MOT time

I'd rather put the money aside each month and keep the £9.

Do it monthly. Pay my bills on a monthly basis so why not do car tax too. Also saves having to fork out in 1 go when there's no need to now.

Paying most other things monthly means a discount, not an increase.

I normally don't have a car for a year and now that you can't sell them with TAX I think I'm going to go with the monthly payments, it works out a better deal than the 6month option (well it was on the renewal letter I got this month).

6 monthly, purely because I don't want to spend £140 on it at once.

I don't have to pay it but the tax on my BMW is £30 for 12months whereas my Transit Connect van is £225, what a stupid system we have.

I've had my car for nine years and have no intention of selling it, so 12 months and a 230 quid hole

Rent is the same, council tax is the same I think, virgin media stays the same, and car insurance is more expensive.

The extra £10 it costs won't be noticed.

So you are saying I can no-longer buy six months tax?

First I've ever heard of that. Also why is it even in the poll then?

Who's confused?

I don't know if I've phrased it wrong or something but I've never heard anyone say you can't buy 6 months tax anymore.
